Going Walkies

Just thought I would show you the antics that happen at my place as I put my boots or shoes on before taking the boys for a walk. It's like this every time.  Some days, it goes down and back, down and back without stopping, other times they wrestle over the toy at the front door for a bit before racing back down the hall. This video was shot over three days.

Today we didn't go for a walk as I wasn't sure the sidewalk plows would have been out to clear the walkways in the park yet so we just played out in the backyard.

Let me get it!

I'm coming.

Happy Boy!

Here I come again.

His favourite game!

Cool Dudes
We have an agility practice this evening so they'll get to run around again. Tomorrow is supposed to be nice and sunny so we'll get over to the park then but will likely have to stay on the walkways. Normally, we go to the school soccer field where the snow is trampled by the kids but that won't happen until next week after the kids have time to run all over it and stomp down the snow again.

Snow Day

Well today after getting up and seeing that it was still snowing, I decided to take a snow day.  It's now after 11 am and it's still snowing. All right already, enough. I sure hope this counts as March coming in like a lion even though today is the last day of February. I hate to think of another month of winter.  The snow bank at the end of the driveway is now too high for my snow blower to throw the snow. The photos are of the front and back of the house. The deck is more than half covered now with really only a walkway to get out into the back yard.

The dogs like that I've been home today and even though it's snowing, it's not too cold out so we've been out to play. The snow is wet and heavy and it sticks to them and me so we come back in the house just soaked. But the boys have fun! They're napping now.

I'm going to get it!

Where's the Frisbee?

Now he's got it

Under the trees
I hope this is our last big snowfall; I'm getting rather tired of winter.  It is fun to play with the boys outside in the snow but I hate all the shoveling that goes along with it.

Sunday Funnies

It was such a nice day today that I took the camera with us when we went for a walk over in the park. It was a bit cooler today than yesterday but that worked out just fine as Beckett is able to walk on top of the snow since there is a nice hard crust.

Beckett waiting for the next toss.
The birds were chirping in the trees and the squirrels were out to annoy Beckett. You would think he would have learnt by now  that he can't climb trees.

Before the squirrels showed up, Beckett and I had a good game of Frisbee. After he finally had enough of them, we were able to play Frisbee once again.  Today Olivia, a golden retriever, and her Mum were also in the park this morning. Olivia just loves people, for her, dogs are only kind of okay and nothing to get excited about.

It seemed like spring this weekend but I'm sure there's some winter weather to come yet before we really can say spring is here.

A Little Canada Day Fun and Stuff

We took a very relaxing Canada Day. Except for cleaning out the garage, I did nothing but walk the dogs and play a little at agility and Frisbee in the backyard.

You'll see Beckett doing the teeter in the video. I'm about 5 feet behind the teeter and sending him straight forward. One of the mini gambles at the Ontario Regionals was similar to this; a teeter about 10 feet from the gamble line with the jump back towards the handler and just inside the line. We've been practicing with Beckett as I have seen a teeter going straight away from the handler before so it will be a good skill to have once he gets into Masters level Gambles. It was quite hot so we didn't do a lot and once he headed for the shade rather than play Frisbee, I knew it was time to give him a break. Tucker, during all of this, was laying in the shade under the cedar bushes near the deck.

I've seen lovely pictures of other people's gardens. I'm not much of a gardener but my Clematis do very well. This year, I put up new trellis so they had more room to grow. It still looks like I could put up an even larger trellis!!

I had shrimp and vegetables done on the BBQ with rice for supper. Later in the evening, Beckett and I went down to Krazy Kanines agility field to practice weaves and then I watched the Canada Day fireworks from Parliament Hill on TV.  There wasn't many fireworks going off in my neighbourhood, so Tucker wasn't too stressed out. All in all a very nice day.

Winter Playground and a New Friend

Yesterday, it was sunny and warm; just a beautiful winter day.  My neighbour, Julie is babysitting a six month old female Airedale Terrier named Teddy.  After lunch, I went over and asked if Teddy wanted to come over and play. The dogs had actually met the night before; Tucker was a grumpy old man but Teddy and Beckett seemed to hit it off.

While we were waiting for them, Beckett and I played with his Frisbee. As usual, Tucker just barked and I think even that tired him out.

We were outside for nearly an hour and a half. Funny but I didn't take any pictures of Teddy, only some video of she and Beckett playing together. Things got just a little bit out of hand once or twice but nothing serious. Beckett always ended up on the bottom in the wrestling but it didn't seem he minded much as he always went back for more.  I should have taken pictures of the snowballs on him some were the size of baseballs.

The link above is to the same video on youtube, the quality is much better there.

I sure wish I had half their energy.
